Gentle Nourishment for Postnatal Healing

What you eat after birth isn’t just about energy — it’s about warmth, comfort, and healing from within.
Across many cultures, postpartum food is soft, slow-cooked, and deeply nourishing — and modern science now supports this wisdom.

At Nest & Nurture, I prepare meals that:
• Support tissue repair with soups, broths, and slow-cooked grains
• Soothe digestion with warming spices like ginger and turmeric
• Encourage milk flow with oats, dates, fennel, and coconut
• Provide emotional comfort through flavour and ritual

One of my favourite postnatal meals is Healing Kitchari — a fragrant dish of rice, lentils, and gentle spices. It’s grounding, easy to digest, and packed with the nourishment new mothers need most.

Simple self-care tip:
If a friend offers to help, ask them to bring something warm — like soup, tea, or a home-cooked meal.
It’s more than nourishment; it’s love you can taste.
